Lily's 4th Birthday Party

Lily had her first friend birthday party this past Saturday.  We did not host a party for Rowan until she was 4 so we waited until then for Lily as well.  We chose to do the party at the Hatboro Y.  I invited all the kids in her class, 23 in total and of that 9 chose not to even respond one way or the other.  Nice, eh?  So frustrating.  This weekend marked the beginning of Rosh Hashanah as well so we got rejections based on the fact that it was a long weekend for some and they were going down the shore or what not.  We were expecting 7, we got 9 (Megan's brother Josh and one non responder) and it all turned out okay anyway.  The kids had a blast playing and running all over the gym and we had a nice Cinderella cake (picked by Lily of course) afterwards.

Joe and Diane came over early on Saturday morning to attend Rowan's second soccer game and to spend some time with Lily for her birthday because we had plans for the evening after the party.  They gave Lily some nice gifts including dolls of Tinkerbell and all her fairy friends but the biggest hit by far was the scooter. Lily had already told me she was going to ask Santa for a scooter so imagine the joy on her face seeing that she was getting a scooter way before then.  It was awesome.

The girls are currently at Joe and Diane's until tomorrow afternoon.  School is closed today and tomorrow for Rosh Hashanah so we had to send them up there for the few days.  I have to wake up tomorrow on Lily's actually birthday without my little boo being there so that will be tough.  We will see them when I get home from work though and then we will give her ours and my family's presents as well.  I can't wait to see both of them!

Saturday night we were invited to the Summers house for a good bye to summer movie night.  They have done movie nights all summer and we went to them all but this was the granddaddy of them all.  There must have been 50-60 people there (adults and kids) and Gary outdid himself with the screen by hanging a giant tarp on the side of the house.  It was a great time and we look forward to doing them again next summer!
