Second fun thing...our neighbour McKenzie was in camp with Rowan and while the two play together they have not really played together before, know what I mean? Well camp changed all that. I was off on Friday afternoon so we brought McKenzie home from camp that day as well and Rowan stayed at her house all afternoon, had lunch, went for a swim in their pool and everything! I had to drag her away so we could get to the wedding we were going to (3rd fun thing) but she went back on Saturday afternoon and had so much fun she ended up sleeping over! That's right, Rowan had her first sleep over with a non relative this past weekend! And she made it through the night without having to call us. Although Tina (the mom) tells us Rowan ended up sleeping with her because she claimed the kids room was too loud and Tina's husband Johnny had fallen asleep on the couch so there was room for her. LOL
Third fun thing...we went to a wedding Friday night! Parker's cousin Danny's daughter Emilie got married. Tracy and Rob babysat Lily but Rowan came with us to her first wedding! Emilie married Chris who is part Greek so there was lots of fun dancing at the wedding and Rowan enjoyed every minute of it! Parker's other cousin Amy and her two kids Mariah and Legacy came and stayed with us for the week leading up to the wedding. They and Parker and Rowan and other family members all went to the Phillies game the night before the wedding as well. Lily and I enjoyed a quiet night in our house together ;)
The not so much...in the past week Zoey has been having problems. She began drinking excessive amounts of water and having accidents in the house. We finally were able to get her to the vet on Saturday morning where they ran some tests and Monday of this week they called to tell us she was diabetic (as suspected). I dropped her off at the vet on Tuesday morning so they could start working on a baseline curve for her for insulin and last night when I picked her up I learned how to give her shots of insulin. She will now need two shots a day for the rest of her life. She took them like a champ though and as nervous as I was at the thought of having to give her needles all the time it was very easy once they showed me how. Now we just have to be very, very consistent with her and keep her on a steady schedule of food and insulin. My poor little fur baby.
