The following pictures of the shore and NYC show the damage that has been done though. The shore may never be the same and it will be interesting to see how long restoration/repairs take.

Hurricane Sandy Oct 2012
To say we got lucky would be an understatement. The Jersey shore took a direct hit from Hurricane Sandy on October 29/30. We were braced and ready for 5-10 inches of rain and hurricane force winds. We got rain but nowhere near the amount they predicted which in turn saved our sump pump from being overwhelmed. We did get ferocious winds but never lost power. It flickered on and off twice in about 1/2 an hour but that was it. Thank god. The street behind us is still without power. Joe and Diane lost power on Monday and moved in on Tuesday but last night got word that their power had been restored.
The following pictures of the shore and NYC show the damage that has been done though. The shore may never be the same and it will be interesting to see how long restoration/repairs take.
