Skeleton Skurry 2013
We entered again! This year Rowan and I ran it!!! Sort of. It was about 37 degrees in the morning, freezing cold - and while we were waiting to start the run I had to pee. Into the porta potty I go and off goes the start gun. Sighs. So we were a minute behind the pack from the get go and ran like hell to catch up and lost our breath and walked a little, ran a little, whined a little but we got it done. Rowan crossed in 47:03 and I crossed in 47:05. Not my best time but it was Rowan's! Next up, Girls On The Run training for Rowan and next year we will crush the skurry!! We didn't win any awards for our costumes but we had fun wearing them and Lily, who picked this years theme, could not have been more proud of them! While Rowan and I were on the 5K course Parker and Lily did the treat trail again.
Brownie Halloween Outing
So yeah, I am the new Brownie Troop leader this year. Not sure I mentioned that before. It's true. Kellie did not have the time to devote to being the leader full time so I took over. So far so good. Fingers crossed. I did manage to get 13 of my 17 girls to an outing at the Shelly Ridge center for Halloween! It was a fun day that I think the girls enjoyed and they got to see how big the scouting world can be because of the number of people there. The girls played some games, did some crafts, did some dancing and some walking through the woods with older girls scouts.

Roller Girls and Pumpkin Patch
I had to go to Brownie training this past Saturday so Parker took the girls to Toys R Us to use some of their birthday money and gift cards. Lily came home with a Razor Scooter and Rowan, Rowan came home with Inline Skates. Lord help me. I went to training and put my phone on the table and told them I may have to leave for the hospital at any time. Haha. Turns out I was wrong. Lily is an ace on the scooter and Rowan got the hang of skating very quickly, it was most impressive!!
Sunday we went to Syter Orchards for pumpkin and apple picking. Ashley has been teaching Rowan how to use her roller blades so we invited her to come with us and her mom Jill came too. It was a fun morning with tractor wagon rides, a corn maze, pumpkin picking and apple picking! And it was a perfect fall weather day to do it all.
I also finally got around to taking pictures of the outside of the house decorated for Halloween. As usual we have our ghost theme going which seems to get bigger and bigger every year!
Still working on Halloween costume ideas but having fun trying things on we are finding as we continue to unpack all that we have downstairs in the basement!
And last but not least Jazz had her annual check up on Saturday morning. She weighed in at 86.3 pounds and still thinks she is a lapdog!
