So this is Christmas

Yep - 'tis the season of unpreparedness.

We got back from our cruise and only had a three days work week because it was Thanksgiving.  That was a nice easy way to get back into a routine.  We went to Aunt Karen's house again this year with Joe and Diane and Uncle Joe and Aunt Janice.

The following Monday Parker had to go to the city for federal jury duty selection!  He called Sunday night and was told he did not have to report on Monday - phew - a temporary phew though as he then had to report on Tuesday.  And of course, 3 weeks before Christmas Parker gets picked as a juror, an alternate at that, for a federal trial that is taking place in Allentown beginning the very next day.  Are you kidding me???  What are the odds of this?  To top it all off I pulled a muscle in my back that continued to get worse and worse until I finally went to the doctor for help.  Thankfully it is just a muscle pull and not a recurrence of the disc problems from last year but my mobility is severly compromised. I had to call in help from Sam next door to help me pick the kids up from school and then call Joe to come down and stay with us so he could help with the kids since Parker was averaging a getting home time from Allentown of 730pm.  I was out from work on Thrusday and Friday and was pretty convinced I was never going to be pain free again but slowly it is getting better now.  I still have pain and sleeping is agonizing but I am not in constant stabbing pain which is a good thing.  And still Parker is on jury duty.

This past weekend I had made an appt for the girls to have their Christmas pictures done again so off we went.  I think they turned out pretty good - these are a few of my favourites.

That night we took McKenzie and our girls to Shady Brook Farm to go through the light show again and then walk around for a bit.  We saw Santa and roasted marshmallows and had a good time.  When we got home we learned Marschelle had returned to us again this year to keep on eye on the girls and report back to Santa everynight as to whether Rowan and Lily were being good.

Sunday the girls wanted to decorate the tree so Parker brought everything up himself and I directed from a chair and we got it all done.   I think they did a great job.
