Friday I worked half a day and then took Rowan to the ENT to have her tubes checked since it has been two weeks since she had them put in. She passed the hearing test completely and the tubes are working perfectly. Whew. As the doctor said, she can indeed hear you now, it's just a matter of if she wants to listen or not.
When Parker got home we went to the pet store for some fish. We bought a mini fountain to put in the front garden a couple of weeks ago and Parker wanted some fish in it. We got three fish and as of yesterday one had been fished out dead and the other two are missing. That was 39 cents down the drain, no pun intended.
The fountain still looks nice though!
The neighbours were all gathered at Johnny and Tina's house when we got home so we headed over there for a few hours, Rowan played with the kids, Parker and I socialized and then I had to take Lily home for a diaper change and at that point bedtime. Parker and Rowan came home a little later.
Saturday morning we woke up when we were good and ready to and then we took a drive up to Rice's Market. Did some wandering around, picked up a few things, mostly watched Rowan and Lily play on the swing sets and playhouses they sell. There were a couple of horses across the street as well that Rowan and Lily (and I) wanted to go see - only putting the pic up because I was super impressed with how well it turned out considering it was taken on my iPhone.
Home, a little grocery shopping, dinner and then the gang (the neighbours) all came over to watch the first game of the Stanley Cup. We all decided that if it was not for each other none of us would have social lives. HAHA. It was fun even though the Flyers lost.
Sunday - first pool day of the season for us! Whoo-Hoo! The weather was perfect and the water was nowhere near as cold as it was last year. Parker came with us too! Rowan was right back into it like she had never even left the pool but she is taller now so she can go deeper on her won which is fun for her. Lily had a great time too, she was splashing around and riding around in her little float again.
Stayed at the pool for a few hours then headed home. The girls were playing, Parker and I were sitting on the front porch relaxing when one by one everyone came over again, hours went by,kids were playing in Sam's car, ladder golf came out (great game) and the next thing I know it is 10:00pm and I am just grilling us dinner then (I had fed Lily earlier when I realized we were not getting a sitdown dinner that night)
Monday back at the pool for the girls and I where we met Angela and Enaiya - even warmer yesterday so the pool felt even better!
Being Memorial Day grilling was in order so we had the standard hamburgers and hot dogs last night and let Lily try out her first piece of corn on the cob. She was great with it although when we first gave it to her she looked at it like, "What the hell do I do with this?" So we had to show her how to eat it.
Closed out our weekend watching Parker and the girls water all the new plants in our front garden - not sure who got wetter, the plants or themselves :)
