Halloween Preview

So the girls Halloween Parade is Friday at daycare so we took a dry run today on their costumes to make sure we had everything and all fit properly. Rowan is Belle and Lily is a garden gnome. *LOL*

Rowan is the funniest big sister ever

So Rowan was trying her hand at hula hooping on the driveway the other day. This was a source of GREAT amusement to Lily.

Ah - the smell of playoff baseball is in the air

Who would have thunk it - the Phillies make a 2 years in a row trip to the World Series! And we now know they will be playing the Yankees (boooooo) Rowan and Parker have been getting worked up playing a little wiffle ball lately and the girls are of course, ready to go with their matching shirts!

Shady Brook Farm

Well it was FINALLY was sunny on one day this weekend so we, and every other family in the Delaware Valley, packed their kids in the car and headed to the local farms for some October agritainment! This year we chose Shady Brook Farm in Newtown. They had a variety of things to do and see and we all had a great time.
We took a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch where each girl picked a pumpkin, Lily had some help picking hers :)

Who doesn't like to stick their faces through silly signs and take their pictures?

Bouncy things - Rowans favourite pasttime

The corn maze - fun - a little muddy - and the ability to get lost very easily!

A giant teepee made of corn stalks

A fenced in maze that Rowan and Parker did

Rowans new thing - face painting - cute going on, a pain in the ass to wash off!

Time to go home...

Happy Tymes

Where to start - seems like a lot to tell all of a sudden. First up....cute pics of the kids in their matching Little Sister, Big Sister shirts :)

Next - Fred (next door neighbour) built a soapbox racer that all the kids in the neighbourhood were all over...Rowan loved it when it was her turn.

This past Sunday my Uncle Joe was in Reading all weekend for a baseball tournament that his Eastern Ontario All Stars team had been invited to. He emailed to let us know they would be around so we could try and get together - after lots of emails back and forth it all came together on Sunday when they came by later in the afternoon, stayed for some dinner and then got a few hours of driving in before heading back to Trenton on Monday. It was great to see him and Sylvia who we had not seen since our wedding and we got to meet their grandson Austin who was an absolute doll, one of the politest 11 year old boys - ever. And when all was said and done, Rowan did the dishes!

Monday of this week was Columbus Day and while I would love to say my Italian heritage got me the day off the truth is it is the one day of the year when daycare is closed for training and my district is not so I had to take the day off. Once again the Fab 5, Rowan, Enaiya, Angela, Lily and I set out an adventure to keep the girls occupied that day - this time, Happy Tymes in Warrington - it was a little like Cosmic Adventures in Ottawa on a smaller scale but a fun time was still had by all - we took a break and went to Cheeburger Cheeburger for lunch and back to Happy Tymes for another hour before calling it a day - a long but fun day :)

Last but not least, as Lily is now taking steps - I have many pictures of her standing

But am having trouble getting her to walk on camera - what follows are her half hearted attempts (and mine) to get it on film.

Steps - we have steps!!!

And she finally walked! Not across the room or anything but at one point a good solid, at least, 5 steps in a row! My baby, becoming a toddler. *sighs*

Dorney Park

Went to Dorney Park on Sunday for their Boo Blast for the kids. Weather was perfect and we all had a blast (no pun intended). The four of us went and Rowan's BFF Enaiya and her mom Angela came with us. Rowan and Enaiya were all over the place with excitement. Lily was her usual awesome self content to sit in the stroller, take in the sites and get out for the occasional ride.

First stop - the carousel.

Next stop - Camp Snoopy, renamed Camp Spooky for Halloween and several rides in there.

Then there was a concourse like treasure hunt where you handed in coupons and got all the pieces to put together a pirate costume. They even gave Lily a coupon book so all three girls got to be pirates and yell "argh Matey"

Angela and Parker wanted to ride some of the big roller coasters and since we all know I am not a ride person they went and did that while I took the girls through a hay bale maze where they picked a pumpkin at the end then we went and decorated our pumpkins and made some masks.

A little face painting for Rowan and Enaiya - shockingly they picked the same design ;) A ride with Parker and some yummy ice cream rounded out the day.

Last but not least some trick or treating on Treat Street, some dancing and singing with the friendly daytime creatures and one shocked Lily.

Almost forgot the posed pictures!
