Soccer, Brownie Tea and CHAMPIONS!!

Let's start slow in this post and build up to the best part of this past weekend.  Friday night Parker, Rowan and Joe went to PPL Park again but this time to see the Army Vs Navy soccer game.  They had a few complications with seating and parking but made it and the game went to overtime with Navy being the victor so they left happy.

Saturday I took my Brownies to another outing to celebrate the birthday of the founder of Brownies, Juliette Low.  Only 5 girls came this time so it was a much easier group to handle and it was all inside.  The girls said they enjoyed the outing, I thought it ran a little long at 3 hours but we got through it.

Then came Sunday.  A day that shall live in infamy. Rowan had her final soccer tournament with her U9 Select team.  This one was on our home fields in Hatboro.  There were 4 teams in the girls division.  Rowan's team played the first game and lost 2-0 to a powerhouse team from Hulmeville.  They won their next two games 4-0 and 2-0 which gave them enough points to play in the championship game against Hulmeville again.  Breaths were held, hands were clenched.  And then a player on the opposing team committed a grievous pnealty that gave our team an uncontested penalty kick - she shot and she scored - GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!  And it was the only score of the game and our little team from one of the smallest soccer clubs in all of Montgomery and Bucks county walked away Champions on their home field!  God was it GREAT!

U9 Select Soccer Tournament

Our girl Rowan was asked to be a part of the U(under)9 soccer team with all girls to play in some upcoming tournaments!  They have been practicing twice a week for the past few weeks and this past Sunday was their first tournament.  They played a total of 3 games.  They lost the first two, 3-2 and then 2-1 but came back strong and won the 3rd game 3-0!  This score actually pushed them over the top in the points brackets and they placed 2nd in the tournament!  There are two more tournaments this coming weekend.  We have to miss the one on Saturday unfortunately because of a Brownie commitment but we will be at the other one on Sunday where they are scheduled for at least 3 games and we will see if they make the playoffs for that one! Rowan's friend and classmate Eva is on the same team and Eva's brother Sal and Lily have been playing during practice and all day at the tournament yesterday.

Halloween

The weather was perfect this year!  Not too cold, no hurricanes (2012) and no snow (2011).  What more can you ask for?  The girls each had parades at their schools.  I had to miss both of them because of work but Parker and Joe and Diane went and got some picture for me.

Then home for dinner and trick or treating with the neighbors.  Ashley and Murphi quickly separated from us so it ended up just being the Kembles and us but that worked out just fine as we all had a great time, parents included!

Then there was this guy:
