Another new year another Winter Gala at Kindercare. To think, next year will be our last one! Lily was all excited about it this year - swore up and down she was going to perform well and sing her little heart out. Until I dropped her off in the room to get ready. Then she refused to let me go and then refused to participate unless she could hold her teacher's hand the entire time. Kudos to her teacher who let her do it though! They break the kids up into two different rooms based on age so each group of kids performs twice so parents can see each kid if they are in separate rooms. In the case of Lily's class this year no one had to go to another room and her entire class basically stood there mumbling, barely making a sound that they were asked not to perform a second time! Haha!

Little update
Right now we are going through a major cold spell - prior to this week the weather has been fairly decent to the point where the girls and I took the dog for a walk one night wearing spring jackets.
Lily went to a classmates birthday party this past Friday night at Bounce U - Parker took her and by the sounds of it she had a great time.
And last but not least - it's that time of year again, girl scout cookie season! Rowan is off to a roaring start, we have sold 125 boxes already and that does not include the credit she gets for working cookie booths. That's right - this year since the girls are now Brownies they can set up cookie booths. The troops enter a lottery system for locations and they are assigned that way. Rowan and I worked the very first shift of the very first booth ever at the Horsham Post Office this past Saturday. It was fun and she gets a share of the total cookies sold at the booth that day. She is working another one come Feb 8 as well so that should help her total number of boxes sold. Not that we are competing with or for anything but it is fun to try and beat last years personal numbers.
Tonight Lily has the annual Kindercare Winter Gala so I am sure I will have some more to post sooner rather than later!

Welcome to 2013
After spending the better part of the first day of 2013 recovering from the last night of 2012 the year is now off and running.
Rowan has started basketball for the first time and she is pretty good at it! There are 3 girls teams of 2nd graders and they both practice and scrimmage on a weekly basis. So far so good!
Our first weekend of 2013 was a quiet one - finally - we resolved to not have so much going on all the time this year and as such were able to relax and get things done in a relaxed manner instead of rushing through chores because we had too much other stuff to do.
As such, we awoke leisurely on Sunday to what was a beautiful day and decided to go to Tyler State Park for an hour and a half walk around. There was snow in some parts still and the girls discovered the wonderful world of throwing snowballs at their parents. Jazz actually ventured into the water so there is hope for her as a labrador after all.

Goodbye 2012
To say we celebrated the New Year would be an understatement.
That morning Parker took the girls to Pump It Up and met up with some friends and their kids for a couple of hours of playtime for them and some peace and quiet for me to get stuff done around the house.
That night we went to the Kembles again this year for our now annual dinner followed by the arrival of neighbours and friends alike. This year we had steak, crab legs and lobster claws. Delicious!
Then it got crazy! I will say this, John Kemble makes an awesome martini!
I wish I had only had the one :) The kids all had fun, the adults had a blast and we all paid for it the next day.
Jazz had the best idea of all of us...
Onward and upwards - here we come 2013 - the world is ours!

Sledding!!
It was not alot of snow, in fact the grass was showing through by the end of the day but that did not stop a group of us from going and trying out the new sleds!!
Christmas 2012
It came whether I was ready or not. For the most part I was. Turkey dinner however did not cook in the anticipated time and dinner was a total bust with nothing but vegetables and an undercooked dinner. Thank goodness for snacks. The girls had a great morning and were spoiled again. Highlights were a castle for Lily and scooter for Rowan from Mom Mom and Pop Pop and One Direction tickets and iPad minis from me and Parker. Santa brought them lots of things including a replica of Space Mountain and the Disney World train set! The best part - it snowed on Christmas Eve!
