Finally got the school pictures from the spring scanned! And we went to the mall just before Easter and thought a picture with the Easter Bunny was in order - I don't know what we were thinking either. As you can see, Lily refused to participate.

The last of the 4 day weekend
So to round out our 4 day weekend we got up Sunday to discover the Easter Bunny had paid us a visit.
The we got the girls showered and into their Easter dresses
Then we headed to Sharon's for the annual family get together including another egg hunt.
Last but not least Rowan and I were off on Monday and after a few errands we picked Lily up at school early and it was so warm out - 80+ degrees for the 3rd day in a row that we broke out the new sprinkler the Easter bunny left and all the kids had a great time.
Last but not least tomorrow is Crooked Billet Day at Rowan's school. It is a celebration of a battle that took place on school grounds during the Revolutionary War - the kids are all supposed to dress in colonial garb as best they can. We got the hand me down skirt from Murphi, got the hat/bonnet from school for $7 and then I went to the thrift store and spent $2 on a lace door panel curtain to make a shawl - pretty creative I thought!

Happy Easter everyone
The last couple of days have been hectic to say the least. Rowan went up to Joe and Diane's for almost the whole week because of spring break for school. She came home on Friday night and the next morning it was easter brunch at Tina's house for the kids to do an egg hunt.
Later Tina took Rowan to the movies with them while Parker and I worked on getting the upstairs ready to move the girls to their new room. Tonight Rowan and Lily dyed their easter eggs - messy but cute. Did two dozen this year so there would be no fighting over who got what but of course one egg broke and that led to bedlam.
And last, but not least, our uberprepared Easter Bunny was busy already.
Right outside the girls room so they know where to start and so Lily knows the Bunny did not come into their room because she was scared of him :)

Play Ball!!
Rowan finally got her first game in last night! We were afraid it was going to get called for rain again but the showers eased up and while the field was wet and a little muddy they still went for it. It was awesome. Here's how T-Ball works - the games last for three innings. Each team bats for the cycle so each player gets to bat and run the bases. You play for outs but even if you are out you get to stay on base so you can run the bases and cross homeplate. The score is not kept. I guess that means every game is a tie. Rowan started out at first base last night and batted clean up. Second inning she played shortstop and batted first. Third inning she played the left half of the pitchers mound (there is no pitcher so two kids stand at the mound area and play each half, one the first base half and the other the third base half and batted fifth.

May flowers to come...
Spring has sprung but with April comes April showers - and lots of them. A few of Rowan's t-ball practices were cancelled because of the rain. Opening night was this past Friday and the weather was good for that but then Saturday there were team pictures and then Rowan was supposed to play her first game and it got called because of the rain - next game is tomorrow night and the forecast is rain all day and night tomorrow. Sighs. They better be some nice May flowers we get out of this!
Sunday then turned around and was beautiful, of course, so I present my homage to spring around our house. Laundry drying on the line - I actually did this last weekend too but it didn't occur to me to take a picture then.
The lawn mowing seal has officially been broken as of yesterday. Now the grass will start to take off and grow like nobody's business until we hit the draught period in July/August.
Fresh burgers on the grill - yum.
And a cleaned up play structure ready for our kids and the rest in the neighbourhood.
Happy Spring all!

Spring has Sprung
Before I start anything let me first share my new favourite picture of all time:
Spring is in full swing around here and with that a busy busy schedule. Tons of pictures to post and updates to enter.
Rowan's Daisy meeting a couple of weeks ago was at a girls salon called Sweet 'n Sassy - they got to play dress up, get their hair, nails and makeup done and strut around on a catwalk. It was very cute and she had a great time.
Not to be outdone by Rowan getting to dress up Lily's daycare decided April 8 should be "Dress Like a Rock Star" day....we went a little crazy with it, sprayed Lily's hair pink, put tattoos all over her arms and one on her face and put her in her Rock Monkey shirt - she looked like a star!
Baseball season started again - whoo hoo! This year I am in a fantasy baseball league with Parker and his friends - my team name is Katrina's Hurricanes and so far we are not doing too well. The girls were excited for opening day tho ;)
Rowan has continued her T-Ball practices and her first official game is this coming Saturday. Opening night at the Little League Park is Friday night so she will be attending that as well.
And last but not least Murphi, next door, got her first dog - a little Boston Terrier puppy they named Fez. He is adorable and a couple of weeks later both kids have finally warmed up to him. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw Rowan letting him sit on her lap last night.
