And so this is Christmas - another year come and gone. This year was a good one for Rowan, she was into the whole Santa thing until the reality of a strange man coming into the house started to take ahold of her little brain and then the fear set it - set in so much that because Joe and Diane spent Christmas Eve here and slept in the living room Parker had to go upstairs to sleep because Rowan had to sleep in bed with me out of fear of Santa coming into her room while she was sleeping. We explained that he only goes in rooms with Christmas trees and we even called him to remind him not to come in Rowan's room but still not good enough, she slept with me! And for a 3 1/2 year old kid she takes up more room than Parker!

But that was the least of our worries because the start of the week before Christmas was not a good one at all. Lily was sent home from daycare an hour early on Friday because she was throwing up - she seemed in the clear for the first few hours after we got home but then she started getting sick after every bottle and having some nasty poops - Sat nigh/Sun morning at 4am I woke up and started with the throwing up as well and the other end. I was out of it all day Sunday until I was napping in bed with Rowan and I got up and left her there only to have her wake up throwing up strawberry pop tarts all over our bed - nice. Rowan bounced back pretty quickly but then Sunday night Parker started with it as well - ugh - the whole house stayed home on Monday and then I took the girls to school and I went to work on Tuesday and Parker still stayed home because he was still out of it. We all have recovered though and even managed to eat Christmas dinner with no problems so we seem to have had some kind of 24 hour stomach bug or something. In the middle of the afternoon on Sunday though I was convinced I was dying and our whole Christmas would be ruined but thankfully it was not!

Santa was good to Rowan - as requested she got a kitchen, a coffee maker, food and drinks - and she has been playing with it nonstop ever since. Joe and Diane were very good to her as well and got her a doll house that she loves as well and a giant purple beanbag that has become more of a trampoline and gym mat then seating. My mom gave her pots and pans and this awesome set of fruits and vegetables that are held together with velcro that she can cut up and they are a huge hit as well.

Last night we got together with Angela and Enaiya and went to Shady Brook Farm to see their holiday light show. It was a drive through show and there was supposed to be Santa's North Pole Adventures as well but I think that ended when Christmas came because it seemed to only be the light show and a big swingset to play on. It was really foggy last night too but we could still see and either way the girls had a blast, it was warm enough to get ice cream as a treat when they were done playing and then they came back to our house to play for a little bit longer and Rowan did not go to bed until almost 1130pm! She was one tired girl and slept until 9am this morning!

Welcome to our new webpage

After many years of running Rowan's website and then starting a new one for Lily I have decided it would just be easier to consolidate and create a new site for the family in general. Rowan's webpage got more than 11000 hits over its almost 4 year existance so I thank you all for being so interested in it and egging me on to continue it.
